Sandro Mentasti, through the Ariete brand - a leading name in ski goggles, motorsport, and cycling - and C.O.I.M. S.p.A, a multinational specializing in specialty chemicals and a leader in the production of polyesters, polyols, polyurethanes, and special resins for composite materials and coatings, announce their strategic collaboration that has led to a product setting a new standard in the industry: the Ariete 8K mask.
Resulting from months of shared research between the development teams of Ariete and COIM, as well as a sustainability journey aimed at drastically reducing CO₂ emissions, the new 8K mask combines cutting-edge design, extreme technical performance, and a strong commitment to environmental sustainability. Additionally, it ensures maximum safety for the wearer, according to tests conducted and required by European certification for Class II Personal Protective Equipment in compliance with EU Regulation 2016/425 and the UNI EN 1938:2010 safety standard.
An Environmentally Neutral Product, Thanks to Material Choices
The product was developed using COIM's new Laripur RS family, a bio-based thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) formulated from renewable raw materials, allowing for 70% bio-based content while reducing the product's Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). This ensures superior resistance, flexibility, and comfort: the same performance with materials that respect the environment. The Ariete 8K stands out for its low environmental impact: thanks to the use of Laripur RS, it contributes to a reduced CO₂ footprint throughout its life cycle. The TPU used is composed of up to 70% raw materials from renewable sources, positioning the 8K mask among the most advanced products in the landscape of low-impact technical materials.
The composition of the remaining emissions, certified by Climate Partner, allows for a "zero-impact" environmental footprint through limited offsetting.
The new mask also features futuristic lines and high-quality finishes, with a design meticulously crafted to offer maximum visibility, fit, and protection. White and cyan prototypes adorned with the COIM logo have been created to highlight the solid synergy between the two entities.

Eurobike, K, and Eicma: Official Debut of the Ariete 8K at Industry Fairs
The Ariete 8K mask is already available for purchase on the official Ariete website, with its physical debut scheduled at Eurobike Frankfurt 2025, the international reference fair for cycling and future mobility, taking place from June 25 to 29, 2025. During this event, prototypes created in collaboration with COIM will be displayed, serving as a tangible symbol of a partnership increasingly focused on sustainable innovation. The mask will also be present at K, the international rubber and plastics fair, from October 8 to 15, 2025, and at Eicma, from November 6 to 9, 2025, the world's most important event dedicated to the two-wheeler sector.
