Settimo Milanese, 18th june 2020

Please find below the new COIM press release. Given the overcoming of the lockdown in Italy and the entry into a new phase, we believe it is no longer necessary to issue periodic communications.

COIM GROUP: MARKETS RECOVERY AFTER THE COVID-19 PANDEMY

The activity of COIM Group, an Italian multinational that has been producing polyesters, polyurethanes and resins for the formulation of composite materials and coatings, has never stopped. With 5 production plants (Italy, Brazil, USA, Singapore, India), 20 branches in 4 different continents and over 1000 employees, COIM ensures local presence and a global approach.

“During a certainly very complicated period, COIM has continued to produce in Italian factories and in the rest of the world, adopting all the necessary measures to protect the safety of its employees - said Alessandro Passerini, EMEA General Manager - The market is there offering discordant signals; an increase in orders in all activities directly or indirectly linked to the food and pharma world corresponds, for now, to a slow recovery in other sectors. However, we look to the next months with optimism."
“We hope that the complete reopening of construction sites and industries - added Passerini - will encourage an increase in activities related to the construction sector (thermal insulation) and footwear. As regards the trend of orders, we expect a moderate but progressive increase in the next quarter until reaching slightly lower volumes than expected in the pre-Covid era, by the end of the year ".
“The situation took us by surprise, but not unprepared - concluded Alessandro Passerini - we reacted immediately by making our collaborators safe. Operating in sectors essential to everyday life (products for the production of food and pharmaceutical packaging and medical devices, raw materials for the transformation of textile products related to the hospital sector), we have taken on the responsibility of continuing to work. Thanks to the dedication and professionalism of all those who work with us, we have overcome very critical situations, not interrupting production even for a day. We have drawn energy from the response of suppliers who, together with us, have multiplied our efforts and from our customers who have been able to recognize and appreciate the result of this commitment. It's not over; we have a duty to keep our attention high and, simply, to continue to do what we know: to work responsibly for COIM, its collaborators and the community ".

The new government decree dated 1 April 2020 provides to further extend, to 13.4.2020, those measures adopted so far for the containment of the contagion from COVID - 19.
It is, therefore confirmed that the policy to keep on working the production of "essential goods and services" continues as per the approach taken in recent weeks.

However, it is also understandable that circumstances could change and lead to a reduction in the efficiency of the logistics chain. This is a situation which, although beyond our control, we remain committed to handling whilst ensuring constant and timely communication.

Dear valued Customers and Vendors,
Further to Governmental Decree dated 22 March 2020, we are writing to inform you about our current business operations and plans to ensure continuity of our service.
New measures to counteract Covid – 19 spread imply the closure of activities production “ not necessary to guarantee essential goods and services”.

On these basis Coim Spa will continue its production activity.
We have implemented all necessary precautions to protect our partners (employees, customers, contractors, suppliers) and our surrounding community.
Coim Crisis Management Team is constantly monitoring the situation cooperating with National and Local Authority and will coordinate our response to changing conditions.
We can count on a robust raw material sourcing strategy and contingency programs but, under these circumstances, we expect logistic chain may face some efficiency issue, this creating a certain deal of uncertainty.
Coim is committed to maintain timely communication and provide relevant information about our operating and supply conditions.
We appreciate your business with Coim. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any question or concerns. Let’s work together for our common goal.

Dear Customer\Supplier,
stronger containment measures to prevent the spread of Coronavirus are now in place in all Italian territory. Commercial activities (shops, restaurant, bars, etc.) not related to the supply of goods for basic necessities have been banned since March 11th, 2020.
Movement of people is limited to work-related and emergency activity.
Industrial production and free movement of goods are preserved with the implementation of measures aimed to reduce the use of manpower to the minimum necessary and strict application of anti-contagion safety procedures.
Coim Group has put in place precise actions (switch to smart working for relevant portion of employees, severe safety procedure for workers and collaborators) to keep on working our production and administrative activities.
We have been able, so far, to secure regular supplies to our clients, nonetheless, in the last few days we have faced an increasingly deteriorated logistic chain efficiency.
Significant slowdowns at the border of Austria and Slovenia “shut down” are going to affect the stream of both finish goods and raw materials.
We monitor the situation on regular basis and will keep you informed in case of significant events.
On the other hands, being these events out of our control, we are not in position to give assurance with refer to delivery time of the goods.
We guarantee the utmost commitment to give continuity to our service and we are confident, with your understanding and support we will be in position to minimize the impact of such an extraordinary situation.
At your disposal for any further information (you can apply to regulatory@coimgroup.com).

Best regards,
Alessandro Passerini

Dear Client\Supplier
The need to apply stronger containment measures to prevent the spread of Coronavirus has led the Italian Government to put in place further restrictive measures aimed to the closure of commercial activities (shops, restaurant, bars, etc.) not related to the supply of goods for basic necessities.
This measure, dated March 11th 2020, is valid throughout the country and confirms the other measures previously adopted: Having already put in place all the necessary actions, we can confirm that the production and administrative activities at the sites of Offanengo, St. Martino and Settimo Milanese are proceeding on a regular basis.
Although the trucks are allowed to enter and leave the Italian territory, we are noticing some anomalies (slowdowns at the territorial borders of some countries, defections of some operators) which can lead to a reduction in operational efficiency. We are working to prevent this from happening. For example, by favouring the use of intermodal transport. However, we cannot provide assurances regarding the delivery time of the goods in relation to events which are beyond our control.
We are at your disposal for any clarification and we will keep you informed about any event which may induce changes to the current situation.
In light of the extraordinary nature of the situation, we are confident that we can count on your understanding and support. From our side, we guarantee you the utmost commitment to give continuity to our production activity while protecting the safety of all those who work closely with COIM.

Kind regards,
Alessandro Passerini
