ISOEXTER - Aromatic polyester polyols for polyurethanes

lsoexter is a family of saturated polyester polyols designed for the production of rigid PU foams. The variety of grades permits the exploration of the well known improved fire resistance of polyesters vs. polyethers by the development of PUR and PIR systems even when based on 100% polyesters with the benefits of:

  • Keeping the present process technology
  • Maximising cost - performance ratio of the systems
  • Improving the environment issue.

 The main features of lsoexter polyols are:

  • Aromatic and aliphatic nature
  • Medium to high functionalities (from 2 to 4)
  • Manageable viscosities (low-medium)
  • Wide range of OH values (from 150 to 600)
  • Good compatibility with polyethers, additives and blowers.

By optimising the formula and the Isoexter grades chosen, it is possible to achieve:

  • Foams meeting the various fire standards with systems containing a low level of fire retardants
  • Foams with improved lambda value
  • Foams with very good physical-mechanical properties even with systems at high water level
  • PIR systems which can be easily processed

Isoexters are utilized in PU systems essentially for the following applications:

  • Flexible faces continuous lamination
  • Rigid faces continuous lamination
  • Discontinuous sandwich panels
  • Appliances
  • Continuous and discontinuous blocks
  • One component foam (O.C.F.)
  • Wood imitation
  • Spray
